5.3. Elements of system of production of the fulfilled gases

To reduce emissions of harmful substances in the atmosphere together with the fulfilled gases the following systems of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases are used:

      – system of catching of vapors of fuel;
      – system of ventilation of a case;
      – system of recirculation of the fulfilled gases;
      – catalytic converter.

System of catching of vapors of fuel

The system of catching of vapors of fuel prevents evaporation of vapors of fuel in the atmosphere from the fuel tank therefore formation of a photochemical smog is prevented.

Vapors of fuel accumulate in a canister with absorbent carbon. During the operation of the engine the electronic control unit opens the valve, and vapors of fuel come to the engine where there is their combustion.

The control valve is used for management of pressure of vapors of fuel in the fuel tank.

System of ventilation of a case (PCV)

The valve of system of ventilation of a case is operated the depression created in an inlet collector during the operation of the engine.

During the operation of the engine at an idling rotation frequency, the valve is open slightly therefore a small amount of crankcase gases is taken away in the resonant camera and further is burned up in engine cylinders.

At increase to the frequency of rotation of the engine, extent of opening of the valve therefore the amount of crankcase gases which is taken away in the resonant camera increases increases and further it is burned up in engine cylinders.

System of recirculation of the fulfilled gases (EGR)

For reduction of emissions with the fulfilled nitrogen oxide gases, the system of recirculation gives a small amount of the fulfilled gases to an inlet collector, at the same time there is their reburning in cylinders of the engine and temperature of combustion of fuel mix decreases. On the Sephia/Shuma cars specially developed new linear EGR valve is installed. This valve performs functions of the electromagnetic valve of recirculation of the fulfilled gases and the valve of management. On the basis of signals from the control unit, the valve operates amount of the fulfilled gases given to the engine due to movement of the core which provision is defined depending on information of the butterfly valve obtained from sensors of situation, the measuring instrument of a consumption of air and the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove elements of system of production of the fulfilled gases in the sequence designated by figures on rice. Elements of system of production of the fulfilled gases.
2. Visually check a condition of elements of system of production of the fulfilled gases and, if necessary, restore or replace them.

Installation

Installation is carried out to the sequences of the return to removal.
